SIX OF THE BEST

Ballygowan rider Michael Pearson had to surrounder his Cock of The North crown to inform Ryan Farquhar at the Cock of the North Races at Sarborough over the weekend with Pearson taking six runner up places to Farquhar from six starts, giving Kawasaki a 1-2 in all the races that Pearson contested.

Held in excellant racing conditions, Pearson was first to admitt that Ryan was simply outstanding at Scarborough, with the Carryduff Forklifts/Morrell Racing rider hinting that the gap between the pair is slowing coming down race after race, with just two seconds seperating Farquhar and Pearson at the line in the final race on Sunday for the Cock of the North Trophy.

Michael Pearson:  "Its been a very good week all round, and to come away with six runner up finishes from six starts is very pleasing, but I would still have liked to have won at least one race over the weekend, but Ryan was in tip top form and he deserves the credit when credit is due.  I am now heading straight over to the Isle of Man for this weeks Southern 100 at Castletown, with this being my first time at the meeting, so I was a little careful at Scarborough not to do anything silly that might have put my trip to the Southern at risk.  From the Southern 100 is straight back home to Kells, so its going to be a very busy week".

Willis Marshall:  (PR) "Those where great results for Michael at the weekend, and indeed, well done to Ryan who was in blistering form.   Michael used Magic Bullet at Scarborough for the first time and was well pleased with its performance, espicially with the 600, as the corner exciting speed was better than previous meetings.   Michael also set his fastest ever lap around the Olivers Mount circuit with a personal best lap of 1 minute 46.7 seconds on the Morrell Superstock, so a great all round result.  Thanks must go to Jonny Annett of Bike Bits NI who at the last minute sorted us out with brade pads for both the Cock of the North and for the Southern 100".
