Following the news that daylight practice should be available to competitors at this year's North West 200, Steve Plater has said he will add the Superstock race to his schedule.

The Lincolnshire man, who won two races at last year's weather-interrupted meeting, will be once again be aboard the HM Plant Hondas in Superbike and Supersport, and will now contest the Superstock class for his squad.

“Seasoned riders will be more relaxed and less likely to make mistakes whilst rookie riders will have additional time on their own to get to know the course during daylight hours," said Plater, backing the proposed extra practice.

“I believe it’s a very professional approach and provides a much safer competitor environment. With this in mind I have decided to contest the Superstock event as well as the other four races.”
