Top class czech road racing rider – Michal Dokoupil – is planning to start in the most difficult road race in the world – mythical TT Isle of Man 2009. His decision about start came a few month ago. Last week he visited Isle of Man to acquaint with track, with surround and people around the race.

He made a lap of the TT circuit in the car with John Barton, and got some advice about the racing lines around the circuit, which will help him when he finally gets to race the circuit. He made a few laps ot the Mountain Course in the car and shortly visited small memorial of Petr Hlavatka who was last Czech racer on Isle of Man. Petr lost his life in practice in 1992…..

On Saturday night he and his friends who traveled with him were at a charity dinner to raise money for the Joey Dunlop Foundation. At the dinner he met a nomber of riders including John McGuinness, Michael Dunlop, Milky Quayle, Darren Hope, Paul Hunt and his son Gavin, along with a number of other riders and supporters of the TT, including James McCullagh and Dan Kneen who will both be racing at the TT for the first time, following their move up from the Manx Grand Prix.
He was able to chat with all these guys, and has made friends with a number of people who are wishing him well for his first entry at the TT, and he will be able to get advice from these guys when he comes back to the Island in May.

He was also able to see and be photographed with some of the fabulous TT Trophies which were on display at the dinner.
Michal did interview for Manx Radio - https://www.manxradio.com/AudioVault/Sports.wma

Indi really enjoyed his visit to the Island, and it has made up for his disappointment of not being able to travel here in November of last year.

Michal Dokoupil is Czech road race champion 2008 in 600cc and OPEN 1000cc classes.

Many thanks to Chas for his perfect information abou Indie´s visit.
