Leading the entry for this years Ian Watson spring cup road races is one of the fastest rising talents we’ve seen for many years on roads circuits, Dean Harrison. Dean for this season is riding for the RC Express racing Kawasaki by MSS performance team and will be looking for victory in the superbike races at the spring cup. Alongside the superbike races Dean will also be confident of top results in the supersport races riding a brand new R6 Yamaha built by Ian Bell motorcycles.

But it won’t be easy for Dean to dominate at the spring cup as the likes of Michael Pearson, Ian Lougher and Jamie Hamilton will be all out to take race wins. Having won the cock of the north road races feature race back in 2009 Michael Pearson is one of the top riders around Oliver’s Mount who will be looking for top 3 finishes in all classes at this years Ian Watson spring cup road races. The Oliver’s Mount legend that is Ian Lougher will be looking to carry on the form he showed at the Ulster grand prix in 2012 which included finishing runner-up to Michael Dunlop in the superstock race.

Ian will be competing at the spring cup on his teams superstock and supersport bikes whilst also competing in the 125 races for the Repli-cast UK racing team. Top TT newcomer in 2012 Jamie Hamilton is getting better and better on roads circuits and is again this season back with Ryan Farquhar’s KMR Kawasaki team which has now acquired sponsorship from Vauxhall Northern Ireland. At the spring cup Jamie will be competing on superstock, super-twin and supersport machinery. It will be the first time Jamie has competed on roads circuits on a supersport bike which is a ZX6 Kawasaki.

Team mate to Jamie Hamilton this season is newcomers c Manx grand prix winner from 2012 James Cowton. James who made his road racing debut at the spring cup in 2011 has gone from strength to strength since this on roads circuits and impressed many in 2012 achieving top results at the Southern 100, Manx grand prix and at all Oliver’s Mount meetings. Now part of the KMR Kawasaki powered by Vauxhall team James will be competing at the spring cup on Kawasaki machinery in the super-twin races with the aim being top 3 finishes.

Another rider Kawasaki mounted this season is Ivan Lintin. Ivan who took multiple wins at the Barry Sheene festival meeting at Oliver’s Mount in 2012 will be looking to start his 2013 road racing season on a bright note at the spring cup. The supersport ZX6 Kawasaki Ivan is riding this season is now backed by Taylor Lindsey racing, so with this new backing and the supersport bike given a few tweaks it has allowed Ivan to really look forward to this years racing which will start for him at the Ian Watson spring cup road races.

Oliver’s Mount race specialists Mick Goodings and Keith Pringle will be aiming for more podium finishes this year at Oliver’s Mount. In 2008 both Mick and Keith stood on the podium for the main spring cup races showing their talent to mix it with the top national road racers. For the spring cup this year Mick will be Honda machinery whilst Keith will be on the same BMW superstock bike as he used at last years spring cup.

Seasoned road racer Davy Morgan is starting his 2013 road racing season at the Ian Watson spring cup road races. For this season in the big bike races Davy will be Honda mounted competing on a Honda CBR-1000 Fireblade superstock bike, whilst for the supersport races Davy will once again be competing on Yamaha machinery and for the super-twin races Davy is competing like in 2012 on Kawasaki machinery.

Podium finisher at the Southern 100 in the second supersport 600 race James Coward starts his 2013 road racing campaign at the Ian Watson spring cup road races. James will be competing on the Barnes racing R6 Yamaha at this years spring cup. For this season James is moving up to the Isle of Man TT from the Manx grand prix and the spring cup will represent the first opportunity to gain valuable track time on roads circuits before the TT starts.

Up and coming road racers James Neesom and Tom Robinson will both be starting their 2013 racing season’s at the spring cup. James and Tom are both aiming to make their Manx grand prix debuts this year and are competing at the spring cup on Triumph and Honda machinery in the supersport races.
