Classic rider Gary Jamison celebrated his 50th birthday with a trip to the Czech republic for race meeting at Horice. Jamison said : "Horice is a challenging road circuit 70 miles east of Prague. It´s a throw back to racing in the 70´s. The circuit is 3.5 miles of hills and decents. The event ran in a very professional manner and attracted 25,000 spectators.

Each class gets two twenty minute practice session an Saturday and a sightting lap, warm up lap with a six lap race on Sunday. It seemed as if the whole town of Horice visited the race paddock on Saturday night enjoy the Czech version of a Queen tribute band. Hilarious.

The first practice session was wet I was 8th overall and the fourth 500, session two was dry but we dropped back 14th and eighth 500. Sunday morning dawned in bright sunshine and 25°C. It seemed every spectator visited our van for a chat, autograph or photograph. The 350/500 Classic race attracted 47 entries from all corners of Europe and machines includede, 500-4 Hondas, JAWA singles & twuns, CZ´s, ESO OHV´s, Aermacchi´s, Ogar, Jupiter and Bultaco´s.

When the flag was dropped we recorded a 10 overall and sixth 500 machine. Maybe it was atmosphere, fit women, sunshine, 36 hour drive, or 60p a pint Budvar but we wnat more. This brilliant experience was made possible by our ´Ton Club´ and Pavel Kočí (wusa czech republic), Road Racing Ireland, N.G.K. which I sincerely want to thank for making such a middle aged man very happy."
