The Ballygowan & District Road Racing Supporters Club will back former Irish Superbike Champion Michael Pearson for the 2010 Irish Road Racing season, after the Club considered a number of riders and options for the incoming year.

Having been associated with two stroke Racing for a number of years, and with the slimming down of two stroke racing, the Club has decided to take a different avenue in 2010.

David Patton:  (Ballygowan RRSC Press Officer)  "following the most recent meeting of the Club, a decision was taken to offer our support to Michael Pearson for 2010.   A number of riders had been spoken to regarding their plans for the new season, however as Michael presented the most positive package it was decided we would move in a new direction.

Tradionally the Club have always  supported riders in the Two Stroke Catogary so next year presents a new challenge for us.  Michael's ability and professional approach is well known to us and in providing him with financial support the club hope he can strive to further his career as a top road racer.    Finnally, we wish to express our sincere gratitute to William Dunlop for his outstanding efforts in 2009, and on behalf of our club we wish him and Michael a safe and sucessful 2010 season".

Michael Pearson: "I am thrilled to bits at being chosen the Ballygowan Clubs rider for 2010.  The Ballygowan club have been very supportive of Irish Road Racing through out the past ten years or so, and all of the previous riders that have ridden for them have been successful.   I hope to be able to carry that tradition onward in 2010, and very much look forward to working with them this season".

Willis Marshall:  (Team Manager)  "This is fantastic news for Michael, and comes at the right time as we finalise or 2010 plans.   The Ballygowan Supporters Club now have a rider from Ballygowan, which should generate plenty of local interest.   They have backed top riders in the past, and hopefully Michael will continue that trend for many years to come, and we all at Michael Pearson Racing look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with the Ballygowan Road Racing Supporters Club".
