I když je Road Racing nejspíš mužskou záležitostí, občas se ale vyskytne nějaká amazonka, která (nám) mužům dokáže pořádně zatopit. Jednou z nich je i CAROLLYN SELLS
Carolynn vyrůstala v prostředí motocyklových závodů od svých šesti let, kdy začala jezdit se svým tátou po závodech v celém Spojeném království. Ve dvanácti letech absolvovala svoji první pouť na ostrov Man, aby tady dva týdny sledovala tu neuvěřitelnou podívanou, které se aktivně účastili její otec. To pokračovalo i v následujících letech, kdy mu pomáhala.
Právě na Isle of Man v ní dozrála myšlenka na samostatnou závodnickou kariéru. Měsíc před svými sedmadvacátými narozeninami pak všechno začalo. To bylo v dubnu 2000. Protože si kopuila svůj první dům, peněz na závody moc nezbývalo. Půjčila si tedy Yamahu TZ250 od svého otce a odjela na ní několik podniků na letišti v Jurby (Isle of Man). Po získání zkušeností na závodní dráze se konečně mohla ucházet o získání národní licence, aby se mohla postavit na start Manx Grand Prix.
V roce 2001 dala dohromady se svým otcem Hondu VFR400 a připravili ji společně na závody. Závodila na ní ve dvou šampionátech v Jurby a New Era v Británii. V roce 2002 konečně získala národní licenci, která ji opravňovala postavit se v roce 2003 na start na TT Course.
Od začátku své kariéry dosáhla mnoha úspěchů :
• Stala se první ženou v historii motocyklových závodů na ostrově Man, která zvítězila v šampionátu
• Stala se nejúspěšnější ženou – nováčkem v historii sólo tříd na TT nebo Manx GP, když v roce 2003 dokončila závod nováčků na čtvrtém místě
• Ze všech žen, které kdy startovaly na Manx Grand Prix se umístila nejlépe – na to čtvrtém místě (2003)
• Stala se první ženou, která dokončila hlavní závod v top10 v celé historii Manx Grand Prix. Bylo to v roce 2004, když ve třídě Ultralightweigh MGP skončila osmá. To bylo teprve ve druhém roce, co se na této trati objevila (2004)
• Stala se první ženou v historii, která zvítězila na okruhu v Billown (Isle of Man kde se jezdí Southern 100). To bylo v roce 2005
• V roce 2005 se stala první ženou, která zvítězila v mezinárodních závodech Southern100
• Třikrát získala trofej Anne Lesleyové za nejlepší výkon mezi ženami závodnicemi na Manx GP (2003, 2006, 2008)
• Získala tři top10 umístění na Manx Grand Prix a své nejrychlejší kolo zajela průměrem 112,76mph (na CBR600)
• Má sedm stříbrných replik z Isle of Man Manx Grand Prix

Road Racing is hard sport for hard men. But sometime we can meet amazon who is able to beat men-racers. One of them is CAROLYNN SELLS
Carolynn grew up around Motorcycle racing from the age of six, following her father to circuits all over the UK and then, from the age of 12, the annual pilgrimage to the Manx Grand Prix in the Isle of Man for two weeks of the year, continuing to go over for the races every year to help and support her Dad, long after she had left home, travelling over on various road bikes.
The Isle of Man is where Carolynn caught the racing bug, but it wasn't until a month before her 27th birthday, that she began her racing career in April 2000. With money being tight, as she had just bought her first house, she borrowed her Dad's TZ250 and only competed in a couple of meetings at Jurby Airfield that year, with the sole intention of getting her National Licence so that she could compete in the Manx Grand Prix on the TT Course.
In 2001 Carolynn & her Dad got their hands on VFR400 for her to race and set about getting it race prepared, to compete in a further few meetings at Jurby.
She competed in two Championships at Jurby and also with New Era in the UK in 2002 and gained her National licence in time to compete on the TT Course for the first time in 2003.
Since starting her racing career, Carolynn has had many achievements, where she;
• Became first woman to win a Championship in the history of motorcycle racing in the Isle of Man (2002)
• Became the highest finishing female newcomer in the history of solo racing at the TT or Manx Grand Prix, with her 4th place in the MGP Newcomers race (2003)
• Had the highest finish by a woman at the Manx Grand Prix to date with the 4th place in the Newcomers race (2003)
• Became first woman ever to finish in the top 10 of of a main race in the history of the Manx Grand Prix, with an 8th place in the Ultralightweight MGP in only her second year on the TT Course (2004)
• Became first woman to win a race outright on the Billown circuit in its history (2005)
• Became First woman to win a race at the International Southern 100 (2005)
• Held the female lap record at the Southern 100 (2006)
• Won the Lesley Anne Trophy for the best performance by a female at the Manx Grand Prix 3 times (2003, 2006, 2008)
• Had 3 top 10 finishes at The Manx Grand Prix and fastest lap of 112.76mph on her MBR CBR600.
• Currently holds 7 Silver Replica's from the Isle of Man Manx Grand Prix.
Carolynn was lying in 3rd place this year in the Manx Grand Prix Ultralightweight race, but unfortunately crashed out at the Bungalow on lap two of the three lap race, having completed her pit-stop at the end of lap one and with the two boys ahead still needing to stop for theirs...
