NEI Motorsports rider Michael Pearson, is currently in a stable condition in Hospital in the Czech Republic after he sustained serious injuries during the 300 Zatacek Gustava Havla Horice Road Races last weekend.
 
Pearson, formally from Ballygowan in Co-Down, but now a resident in Lisburn, was involved in a first lap incident in the final race of the day, the Superbike Race, when he was struck by a wayward machine from another fallen rider at a section of the circuit called Na Cikance.
 
Michael was immediately attend to by track side Medical personal, and the extent of his injuries where such that he was rushed by air ambulance to the Emergency department of the Hradec Kralove Hospital where he was assed before being taken to surgery for the treatment of internal bleeding, back and hip injuries.
Michael was placed on the critical list, and had his wife Diane and his father Alan, with him during this time.
 
Earlier in the day, Michael had won the Supersport 600 race.
 
We are pleased to report that Michaels condition has improved over the past 48 hours and he has been able to communicate with Doctors and family members.  His early signs of recovery are very encouraging.
 
Michael will undergo further examinations on Wednesday for the treatment of a broken hip joint.
 
Michael's wife Diane, his mother and father, Team members, and friends, would like to express their sincere thanks for the many many messages of support in what has been a very difficult time.
In particular they would like to thank the medical personal, air ambulance, and Hospital staff for the excellent and attentive attention they have, and continue to give Michael.
